David Brockie - The Comedian R.I.P.

On March 23rd, 2014 not only did GWAR lose an important and beloved member of their Scumdog family, but Metalblade Records along with the rest of the world did with them. Of course I'm speaking about their frontman David Brockie (better known as Oderus Urungus).

Through the 20+ years that GWAR has been around, they've never set down the cuttlefish and call it quits. Why? Because despite their destructive force and massive killing sprees, they've always been able to make people laugh. Oderus (who is from the planet Scumdogia, far past Uranus) has always been able to make people laugh. He wasn't only a vocalist, but a comedian. They were "sent here" to "Kill Everything".

When you think of the word kill, you think of death or dying right? Well if you've ever seen a GWAR concert, caught GWAR on the Joan Rivers show or even have seen Oderus on Jerry Springer, yes, Jerry Springer; what do you do? You die, but only of laughter.

They write, record and play all these retarded songs. Put on this giant spectacle of a show for what? To make us laugh. They care less about the money they make, because if they're not making us laugh, they're not doing their job. And it almost seems like their number 1 focus each and every day is to make people laugh (At least that's what I saw in Brockie/Oderus). Now Google knows that I'm not the greatest writer in the world, but I know that almost anybody who has seen GWAR is going to agree with me. And I wanted to give my thanks to GWAR for every horrifically hysterical song, music video, movies etc they've done as well as to Brockie who I consider the greatest comedian who's ever lived.
